Oh Christmas Tree That Sparkles-How To Make A Mixed Media Canvas

Hello Crafty People!
Welcome to Chattering Robin's.

Michelle here with you today to
share a new Mixed Media Christmas Canvas,
I created using exclusive products from
The Robin's Nest.

The first time I laid eyes
on the GORGEOUS
Cindy Lou Swirl Glitter Cardstock
I just knew I had to make something
that would showcase it.

SoI decided to make a mixed media canvas.

Additional Supplies Used:
Canvas
Glue
Acrylic Paint
Christmas Themed Stamp
Glimmering Mist
Pigment Sticks (Gelato's)
Glitter
Paint Pen
Wired Ribbon
Mica Powder
Red Ink Pad
Tapered Point Paint Brush
Iridescent Medium

I chose an 11x16 tripled treated canvas for this project.
I used my die cutting machine to cut a
"fancy" Christmas tree design.

To color the canvas, I began
by using a red gelato to deep color the edges, and then I lightly used my water dipped paint brush to blend & lighten gradually
working my way towards the center.

While still damp, I used a red mica powder,
blending it with my finger to give some shimmer
to the edges.

I then used the iridescent medium
to give a background shimmer,
to the green glimmering mist.

I also used my paintbrush, dipped in a watered down
dollop of the spray,
to blend it to the edge of the red, and leaving it darker towards the center.

To add a more festive look, I used
a snowflake rubber stamp dipped in white acrylic paint,
and then randomly stamped all around the canvas.
To finish the surface, I used my paint brush once again,
to splatter iridescent medium & white made over the entire surface.

Once dry, I alternated my tree parts,
using both sides of the beautiful cardstock.
I then used a broad variety of Dew Drops & Diamond Dew drops
to decorate the tree.

My favorite part with this project was creating the
poinsettia's & holly berries using the Dew & Diamond Drops. Such fun!

And I used TRN's Dew Drop Glue,
to add the Mini Dew Drops & Dew drops to the canvas.
I just followed the directions on the back of the packaging.

To finish, I added a wired ribbon bow, and some
mini red roses to the very top of the canvas.

This project, really had my
creative thoughts going everywhere,
but once finished, it was Christmas perfection.
